Sufjan on ACL (part two of my experience)

Well, as I watch the Sufjan Stevens episode of Austin City Limits, I’m trying to find myself and my friends in the crowd during the audience shots.

So far I’ve found Mark and LeAnne in a shot about 7 minutes into the Sufjan show, and a faint barely visible shot of me at about 5 minutes in.

Here’s the shot of Mark and LeAnne (second row, respectively the first two people from the left side) who were sitting RIGHT next to me

And here is a shot of LeAnne, Mark, Rachel, and MY ARM! (in reverse retrospective order from the left side).  My arm is so famous.

Voting

ok, I don’t claim to know a lot about politics and I don’t like to preach to other people on my stance on political related issues, but I need to chime in here.

Yesterday a few really great things happened.  First off, I voted.  It took me a few tries to find the right precinct for where I was registered to vote, but I found it and I voted.

Second, a democrat won the spot (House Majority Leader) that Tom Delay had.  This is a very good thing.  It gives hope to the world that maybe just maybe Texas is becoming a little less conservative (hah, yeah right).

Third, and most important, the Democrats have finally won back control of the House.  I’d have to say this is the only good thing yet to come out of Bush’s presidency.  He has put such a bad taste in people all over the country’s mouth in regards to right-wing, god-fearing, gun-toting, trigger-happy Republicans that they are switching sides.

Hopefully all of this means that we won’t have a republican president in the next term.  Of course all it will take is two similar cantidates deciding to both run while a third Republican to run and take more than 1/3 of the vote.  I was a little pissed off when I voted yesterday because there were quite a few seats in local politics that had more than 1 democrat running for the seat, and only one republican.  I kept track of them and sure enough, the vote was split about 40% R and 30% for each D.
