Human Giant

Wow, in order to get a second season for Human Giant, it appears on Friday MTV and MTV2 gave the guys 24 hours of airtime where they could play anything they wanted from the mtv vault (except for anything nirvana, stupid cortney love), plus they could show (and did) all the episodes of season 1 of Human Giant.  The only stipulation was that they had to get 1 million hits on their webpage in order to get a season 2.  They also got the hits.  But there’s a TON of highlight clips from the 24 hours here

Vegas

Well, I’m heading off to Las Vegas with me mum. It should be fun, today for a few hours I’ve just been sitting here on the net looking for coupons. We wanted to hit up The Second City. Yeah yeah yeah, I know, it’s not the Chicago one, but comedy isn’t area specific…. is it?

In good old Chris Mikesell fashion, I found the perfect site. The Las Vegas Advisor 2 for 1 special for Second City, as well as a TON of other 2 for 1 specials on food and entertainment.

Craigslist fun

So as always, when I’m bored, I look through craigslist.  Today I found an ad in the free section that most people would just pass over, but seeing as how it’s Austin and everyone loves to point out their moral superiority over others by “going green”  I thought I would take one of these green goers down a peg.

The Ad:

Free to good home: 10-year old Sears Craftsman 6.0 Gold lawnmower. Works great! Has annual tuneup and oil changes. Gas can included. I’m going “green” and getting a battery mower to replace this one.

Can pickup any evening or on weekends.

My Email to the ad poster:

Not to split hairs here, but don’t you find it ironic that you are replacing your mower in an attempt to go “green” but you are giving away your gas powered one, so someone else can use it.  Kinda defeats the purpose of going green when you encourage someone else to use a gas-powered one.

Just thought it was funny, and I’m not a green person by any means.  I just love pointing out irony by way of the internet.

Another successful semester

I’m three courses away from graduating this August.  This past semester was a rough one, but I’ve pulled through it somehow.

Life’s going pretty swell.  If you know of anyone who’s looking for an IT Guy (no programming) anywhere in the country sometime in the middle of August, please by all means, drop me a line.  I specialize in Hardware installation and repair, as well as networking installation, maintenance and repair.

I also am a people person, so you don’t have to worry about me being a recluse IT guy.

Also, ladies, if you’re looking for a great bachelor to move to your town, I am completely willing to sleep on your couch until I find work.
